Installing/Removing Kml Builder

Note: Depending on the Kml Builder version you are installing, you may be asked to first remove the previous version if one was previously installed on your computer. This will only occur if the previously installed version cannot be removed automatically by the installer. See below for the steps to uninstall Kml Builder if required.

Warning: Do not download or install a version of Kml Builder from any other source. Kml Builder software has not been code signed therefore its authenticity cannot be verified when installed from other sources.

Installing Pre-Requisite Software (Links below navigates to the respective download page):

Internet Explorer version 7 or higher (Already installed on Windows 7)
Microsoft DotNet Framework 4.0 or higher (Install yourself or let Kml Builder install it for you)
Google Earth Plug-in version 6.0.0.1735 or higher (Install yourself or let Kml Builder install it for you)

Installing Kml Builder

To install the program, use the installer found at http://www.northgates.ca/kmlbuilder/download/

From the link above, click on the Kml Builder download link you wish to install.
On the file download security warning, click Run to start the installation immediately or click Save to save the installation package on your computer if you wish to install it at a later time.
Note: If you chose Save, when asked for the save location, choose your desktop as it will be easier to find the installation package when you are ready to install it.
When the installation is complete, you can delete the installation package (from your desktop) if you chose to save it on your computer in step 2 above.
A shortcut to launch Kml Builder will appear on your desktop and in your Programs Files as Kml Builder.

Updating Kml Builder

You can check for updates from Kml Builder menu Help » Check for Updates...

Uninstalling Kml Builder

To uninstall Kml Builder software, you should use its uninstall program files.

Choose Settings » Control Panel from the Start menu.
Open the Add/Remove Programs (or Programs and Features). You’ll see the Install/Uninstall window with a list of programs that you can remove.
Select Kml Builder and click add/Remove (or Change/Remove depending on the version of Windows).
Follow the instructions on screen to remove Kml Builder from your hard drive.

Note: Only Kml Builder original files will be removed by the installer, all your KML/KMZ files will remain at their respective location.
