The main toolbar offers frequently accessed
commands.

Some commands availability depend on the selected feature
and if Google Earth is running.
Create a new blank kml
document.
Open an existing kml document from
practically anywhere locally and remotely. Supported file types are kml,
xml, kmz, zip.
Choose between the entire kml
file of the selected feature. Creates a temporary kmz file and opens
the Email Your Place dialog
box.
Choose between the entire kml
file of the selected feature. Creates a temporary kmz file and opens the
Upload to the
Internet/Intranet dialog box.

Show/hide the
crosshair.

Show/hide the balloon
text.

Save the latest changes or opens
the Save As dialog if the file does not exist.

On the selected feature,
creates a point geometry snapshot at the crosshair location on Earth
Viewer.

On the selected feature,
creates a Look At snapshot at the crosshair location on Earth
Viewer.

On the selected feature, opens
Google Earth feature properties dialog which starts in-place feature
editing.

Closes Google Earth feature
properties by cancelling the edit operation.

Preview the entire file at the
selected feature, Preview the selected feature only, or, Do not preview.
You can also set the speed it takes to navigate from feature to feature
while editing your kml file. If Google Earth is closed, it will open
it.
Play/pause touring starting at
the selected feature. You can also set the tour speed, delay and
cycles.

Stop touring if a tour was
started.

Opens the Layers dialog where
you can turn layers on or off. You can also set the terrain exageration
from this dialog.
